Nongnooch Garden Pattaya is not only renowned for its beautiful landscapes and diverse plant species but also for housing the largest number of sea coconuts in Asia. Currently, the garden has 33 mature sea coconut trees and 41 seedlings, totaling 74 trees, a rare and valuable collection.

The sea coconut, also known as the "double coconut," is a rare palm species native to the Seychelles archipelago in the Indian Ocean. This species is famous in the botanical world for having the largest seed in the world, which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. Additionally, sea coconuts have a long life cycle. It takes about 30 years to bear fruit, 7 years for the fruit to ripen, and another 2 years for the seed to sprout. These trees can live up to 400 years, making them a slow-growing yet long-lived species.

Thanks to the care provided by Nongnooch Garden's botanical experts, the sea coconut trees are thriving and well-maintained. Visitors have the rare opportunity to witness and learn about this unique species up close.
