The Nong Nooch Pattaya Elephant Park held a grand ceremony to welcome twin baby elephants, born to different mothers. Mr. Kampon Tansacha, President of Nong Nooch Pattaya Garden, along with the management team, invited Phra Khru Silasaratikun, the abbot of Wat Khao Khanthamat, and Phra Khru Kasemkittisophon, the abbot of Wat Samakkhi Banphot, to perform the traditional blessing ceremony for the baby elephants. The ceremony took place at the 200-acre elephant shrine within the garden.

The ceremony featured a procession of traditional dancers and a parade of over 30 elephants to welcome the two baby elephants, “Plai Mithuna” and “Pang Nong June.” The elephants were adorned with garlands and sacred threads, and their foreheads were anointed with powder for good fortune. These two elephants were born on the same day in June 2024, making them twin elephants from different mothers. Both baby elephants are healthy and are being cared for by the Nong Nooch Pattaya Elephant Park.

This event marked the first time in the garden's history that elephants were born on the same day, considered a lucky occurrence for the park. Currently, the park cares for 77 elephants, looked after by a team of veterinarians and mahouts. The park has also received certification for good practice standards for elephant camps from the Department of Livestock Development and the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards, being the first in Thailand to receive such recognition.
