Nongnooch Garden Pattaya Holds Auspicious Flag Changing Ceremony, Installing Nine Prayer Flags for Good Fortune

Today, Mr. Kampon Tansatcha, President of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, along with the management team, participated in a ceremony to change nine "Prayer Flags" from Bhutan at 9:09 AM. The ceremony was presided over by Phra Kru Kasem Kittisophon, the chief monk of Phultaluang Subdistrict, along with nine monks who performed a blessing ritual, including the gilding and consecration of the prayer flags while chanting the victory mantra.

This flag-changing ceremony took place earlier than usual because the rainy season had caused the previous flags to become damaged. Typically, the prayer flags are replaced every six months. The new flags used in each ceremony have always been donated by the Embassy of Bhutan in Thailand.

The "Prayer Flag" is considered a symbol of good fortune. In the early days, the cloth used for the flags was dyed with natural colors representing the five elements: Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, and Space. The flags are inscribed with prayers, and each of the five colors symbolizes one of the elements. These flags are believed to bring blessings during times of illness and joy and are used for prayer. At Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, there are many auspicious sites for visitors to pray and seek blessings, including the Nine Temples Buddha, Phra Phutthakhun Museum, Brahma statues, and Ganesha statues, among others.
