Palm tropical in origin but with several species coming from high altitudes and even has native European species. Thanks to the excellent climate the garden can claim to have the largest Palm collection in the world. The garden has 1,567 species of the recorded 2,600 species in the world.
Nongnooch Pattaya Garden has almost 100 species that are no known in cultivation elsewhere. Research is being conducted regularly on several aspects of palms. The garden has served as the host twice for the International Palm Society meeting.
