Nongnooch Garden Pattaya Welcomes NASA Astronaut to Explore GARDENS, PLANTS and a center for educating everyone and Participated in Tree Planting.
Today, Mr. Kampon Tansatcha, President of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, welcomed Michael López-Alegría, a NASA astronaut, along with his friends, to visit the Kingdom of Learning and the beautiful gardens within Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, where they also participated in planting trees.
On this occasion, the group planted a Pimenta dioica tree, which originates from the Caribbean, southern Mexico, and Central America. The leaves are oval-shaped, the flowers are fragrant, and the fruit is sweet with typically two seeds. The fruit can be used in cooking or as an herbal remedy. This arboretum was established on 43 rai of land, officially approved by the Royal Forest Department, to collect and plant valuable and rare trees from around the world. Many notable individuals have continuously visited to plant trees here.
In addition, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya is developing this arboretum at the base of Khao Bandai Krit to serve as a botanical learning center for Thailand. All costs associated with the project, including tree collection, planting, and maintenance, are fully funded by Nongnooch Garden Pattaya.
Apart from Michael López-Alegría, the group included Philippe M., Caroline (owner of the Guenat-PMG shipyard), Raphael (the first explorer to circumnavigate the globe using solar power), Nadia, Christian, Marie, François, Brigitte, Taylor, and Audrey. They visited the Kingdom of Learning for children and youth, which left a strong impression on the entire group.
