Nongnooch Garden Pattaya Wins the Royal Trophy for Excellence in Bromeliad Competition at the 17th Eastern Floral and Ornamental Plant Fair
Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, led by Mr. Kampol Tansatcha, President of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, follows a policy of collecting and developing plant species from around the world, with a collection exceeding 18,000 species. At the 17th Eastern Floral and Ornamental Plant Fair, held under the theme “Phruksa Flower Shop,” Nongnooch Garden Pattaya submitted a bromeliad plant for competition and won the prestigious Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Debaratana Rajasuda.
The award-winning plant, Guzmania ‘Ice Cream’, was recognized for its unique form and stunning colors. The species was originally collected from abroad and is the only one of its kind in Thailand, making it exceptionally rare. Propagation is carried out through offshoots, a time-intensive process requiring many years to produce enough plants for display. Currently, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya has successfully propagated over 500 plants over a span of 10 years.
In addition to the Royal Trophy, Nongnooch Garden Pattaya also won four other awards in the bromeliad category. The event is being held from January 18–26, 2025, at the grounds in front of Chonburi City Hall.
